Character Education Project (30%)


Title:  Service Learning


Project Introduction:
Service Learning is an idea where community service and learning take place as you carry out your project.



Outcomes: Through the activity, students will :
  •  Enhance their self-awareness to bring out the best in them
  •  Reflect on what you have experienced in implementing the community project e.g. your strengths and weaknessess, how you handled challenges and what you will do differently next time.  
Instructions for submitting CE project:

1. Upload at least one photo taken during service learning. You can use any photo editing software (e.g. photo shop / coral draw) or simple Microsoft office to create a single personal poster page ( A4 size).


2.  Briefly write your reflection involved in carrying out the project.

You must also incorporate answers to the following pointers:
  • How has the service-learning experience changed my thinking, attitudes, and actions towards others, myself and the community?
  • What stands out as the best or worst thing that happened to you in your service learning experience? What did you learn from these experiences?
  • Do you see yourself staying involved in the community during your college and adult years? Why or why not?
 (At least 50 words)

Post your answer together with your personal picture/poster to your class character education blog (url address will be given below)


NOTE: Please DO NOT send WORD documents attachments. Picture/poster should be in .jpg format.


4. Remember to enter the subject field of your email as your CLASS; NAME; INDEX NO.
E.g 3A James Lee (21)

5. Email your project (personal poster + personal comment) to your respective class   
character education blog by: 26 August 2011        

6. Check your blog post by clicking your class CE blog at the left column of this blog page

  1. To me education is a leading out of what is already there in the pupil's soul. To Miss Mackay it is a putting in of something that is not there, and that is not what I call education. I call it intrusion.
